Why is my 'delete' or 'merge' link gray?
Certain types of deleting and merging require permissions. Deleting and merging companies: Only Account Administrators can delete and merge companies. Deleting people and deals: If the 'delete' link is gray, contact your Account Administrator to enable this functionality or to perform the deletion on your behalf.
Can I merge a deal?
Unlike merging Companies and People, deal merging is not a supported feature at this time. The best way to workaround this is to manually copy the information from the duplicate Deal and update the Deal you'd like to keep. Then to delete the duplicate Deal by going to it's profile page > Actions > Delete.
What does "worked on by" mean?
"Worked on by" refers to when a user created a company or owns an associated person or deal
How do I search for more than one company within a list view?
You can search for more than one company in one of two ways: - If all companies have the same root within them (for example, 123), you can type that value into the search bar & select the first option. This will show all companies with this root. - If all companies are independent of one another, you can search for the first company (ABC Company, for example) & return to the search bar to place your second, third, etc. value (123 Company).
Is there a way to archive a Company?
There's not a way to archive a company the same way you can archive a deal, but you can achieve something similar using custom fields. For example, you could create a custom dropdown field that has two options, "active" and "archived," and make all the companies currently in your account "active." You could then set up a filter on the Companies list view page to only show "active" companies. When you want a company to be hidden from that view, you could change it to be "archived."
I am trying to merge companies but don't have the option in actions. Is it something to do with permissions?
Yes; to delete or merge companies, you must be an admin on your account.
What is the best way to add multiple locations for a single company?
You will need to create a separate company profile for each location. You cannot have more than one company with the same name. For example PipelineDeals has an office in Philadelphia and Seattle. One profile could be PipelineDeals, Philadelphia and the other would be PipelineDeals, Seattle. Then if you would like to associate these two companies together, you can do that by adding a Multiple Association Company custom field.
Can I convert companies to customers in bulk?
Yes! To convert one or more companies to customers at once, select the companies you wish to convert from the Company tab list view. The option to convert companies to customers appears above the list if you select one or more companies using the checkboxes. A confirmation message to convert companies to customers appears when you click to ‘Convert to customer.’
Why can't I convert a company to a customer?
The Customer Management features are only available with Develop and Grow subscriptions
How do I create a custom field for Customers? I only see Company, Deals, and People.
That is correct when you go to Account Settings > Custom Fields > you are only able to create custom fields for Company, Deals, and People. Since Customer is a converted company, you can create company custom fields for customers.
