Mailchimp (new version coming soon!)
Mailchimp makes it easy to use email to nurture your clients and prospects with email marketing automation. Create lists of contacts in PipelineDeals then sync those lists to an existing Mailchimp list or create a new Mailchimp list altogether.
PipelineDeals syncs the Work Email address, First Name and Last Name to Mailchimp.
After you send your campaign in Mailchimp, the name of the latest campaign and its corresponding opens and clicks will display on the person's profile page as well as in the Mailchimp column fields on a People list view.
Sync with Mailchimp
An Executive admin user will need to follow the initial steps in order to authenticate the integration with Mailchimp:
- If you don't have a Mailchimp account yet, get one here!
- An Executive admin user will need to enable API access from account settings.
- You can enable your API here
- Click on the Profile Icon > Account Settings > Integrations > Mailchimp
- Log in to Mailchimp and enter your Mailchimp credentials.
Sync lists to Mailchimp
Under the People tab, select or create a new saved list to sync with Mailchimp. Only saved lists without any unsaved changes will sync. Once your list is all set select >
Mailchimp Sync and choose which Mailchimp list you’d like to sync with or create a new Mailchimp list. Your PipelineDeals list can now be accessed in Mailchimp and will automatically refresh any time there is an update to your PipelineDeals list. All contacts on a PipelineDeals saved list must have a 'work email' to sync.
NOTE: A PipelineDeals saved list will completely overwrite an existing Mailchimp list with the sync. All synced lists will land in Mailchimp under the Lists section.
PipelineDeals is the source of truth so only updates made in PipelineDeals will appear in Mailchimp. Updates made in Mailchimp will not affect the contact’s PipelineDeals record. The sync between Mailchimp and PipelineDeals looks for updates about every 10 minutes so your lists are continually up to date. Larger lists may take a little bit longer.
PipelineDeals syncs the contact's First Name, Last Name, and Work Email.
You can sync multiple lists with Mailchimp, but each PipelineDeals list will only sync to one Mailchimp list. Syncing a PipelineDeals list to an existing Mailchimp list will completely overwrite existing data.
Mailchimp Reporting in PipelineDeals
After you send a campaign, a new Mailchimp section will become visible on the person's profile as well as in the People list view. You can see the latest campaign sent and whether the person opened or clicked through the email. You can also see if the message bounced. If a contact unsubscribes from a campaign, you will need to manually update the record in PipelineDeals.
This information is useful to know when you are making personal follow ups. You can understand the types of communications the person has received and use this information to guide future conversations.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I update a contact's information?
Any updates to a record’s name or email will also update the corresponding record in Mailchimp, as long as the update doesn’t remove the person from the synced PipelineDeals list. Any name or email change made within Mailchimp will NOT affect the contact's info in PipelineDeals.

If I send an email in Mailchimp and a recipient unsubscribes, does it update the unsubscribe field in PipelineDeals?
You will need to manually update that field in PipelineDeals one by one.
Will I have duplicates in Mailchimp if I sync an existing Mailchimp contact?
Mailchimp cannot have duplicate email addresses in the same list. The first instance of the 'work email' field will be synced and any consecutive instances will be ignored.
What happens if I have other programs synced to the Mailchimp list my PipelineDeals list is synced with?
We do not recommend syncing other platforms to a Mailchimp list synced to your PipelineDeals ist as the sync won't recognize new or updated contacts from separate platforms.
